Getting Your Part Load Ready for Germany
Good planning makes a shared load to Germany run smoothly. Start by making a list of every item you want to send. This helps us work out how much space you need, and it also forms the base of your customs papers. Measure large items like sofas, beds and wardrobes, so we know the size of each piece before collection day.
Pack your boxes well before we arrive, or ask us to do it with our packing service. Use strong boxes and do not overfill them, as a shared van holds many loads stacked with care. Label each box with your name, the room and a short note on what is inside. Keep your passport, keys and other papers with you, not in the van.
If your new home in Germany is not ready yet, we can hold your things in secure storage until it is. We then add them to the next trip going your way. This is handy if you are renting first or waiting for a lease to start.
Settling In After Your Groupage Move to Germany
Most people who move to Germany need to register their new address at the local town hall soon after they arrive. Check the current rules for your city, as you may need your lease or a form signed by your landlord. Having your paperwork ready makes this step quick.
When your shared load arrives, our team unloads it and places each item in the right room. We can put back together any furniture we took apart, so your home is ready to use. If you have a full house to move instead, our dedicated removals to Germany give you your own van and a fixed date.
Part Load and Groupage to Germany: Your Questions Answered
Does it matter where in Germany my part load is going?
Yes, it does. Germany is a big country. A van heading for Cologne or Dusseldorf in the west runs a very different route from one going on to Munich, Berlin or Hamburg. We group your load with others going to the same region, so the trip makes sense for everyone. Tell us your town when you ask for a quote and we will explain the likely timing.
What should I sort out at my new German home before the van comes?
Check the access first. Many German flats are in older blocks with long stairs and no lift, so tell us the floor. Some streets need a parking space set aside for a removal van, and we check the current rules for your town. Make sure you have your keys, and tell your new neighbours or building manager the date. Then the drop goes quickly.
What does German customs need for my share of a groupage van?
Since Brexit, household goods going from the UK to Germany need customs papers and a full list of what you are sending. You may also need proof that you are registering a new home in Germany. We prepare the customs forms with you, but rules can change, so we check the current rules before you move.
Is a part load or my own van better for a move to Germany?
A part load suits a few boxes, a room of furniture or a small flat, and it costs less. If you have a full house or need a fixed date, your own van may be better. We can talk through both with you and suggest the best fit for your load and dates.

The communication was very good, the company are very responsive and friendly. The price was very good, especially for an international move. The move went smoothly. I can highly recommend.
I used Elite to firstly move half our things into storage, and then move the rest of our furniture and belongings to our new house. At all stages, Elite was excellent. Communication was great - via Whatsapp with photos and follow up questions to ensure an accurate quote. The movers arrived right on time both times and were very efficient. On the day of our move, the movers had to wait a while for our sale to complete, meaning it ended up being a really long day for them, but they remained in high spirits and were an absolute pleasure. They dismantled and reassembled our furniture for us. The price was fair, and exactly as quoted. I was really impressed, and would definitely use them again.
Thanks to Elite and Team, we moved with less complication as they were very patients at work and managed all difficulties with ease. Completed job in friendly manner by even placing all goods in right positions at new home to make it easy for us to unpack, would gratefully recommend them for your move as the price even was decent. After six hours of hard work they still had a smile in their face to make a joke .You won’t regret in trying this team.
Excellent move coordination, communications, professionalism, and removals team performance.
Very helpful and professional
I used Elite Moving for a move at the end of June. The team - Vijay and Ranjan were professional, courteous and extremely diligent. They dropped off boxes before the day of the move and took extra care to pack and care for all my belongings. The only reason I did not give them a 5 star rating is because, a third person was supposed to assist with the move and did not show up on the day causing things to get delayed. While it was not their fault, I think it is one of the kinks they will need to work out as part of a new business. Despite this, they worked very hard to ensure I was into my new place as efficiently as possible. I would highly recommend them and use them again.
