Dedicated or shared: which European move suits you?
Every European move we run is one of two kinds. A dedicated move gives you a van and a crew just for your things. You pick the day we collect and the day we deliver. The van then goes straight to your new home, with no stops for anyone else. It suits full houses, tight deadlines and homes with costly items. See our pages on dedicated removals to Germany, dedicated removals to Sweden and dedicated removals to Norway to see how it works.
A part-load or groupage move means you share the van with other people going the same way. You pay only for the space you use, so it often costs much less. The catch is that delivery dates are less fixed. It suits smaller moves and anyone who can be a bit flexible on dates. Read about part load removals to Germany, shared removals to Switzerland and groupage removals to European islands to learn more.

Paperwork for moving to Europe after Brexit
Household goods going from the UK to an EU country now pass through customs. If you are moving your main home, most EU countries let you bring your belongings in without paying duty or VAT under transfer of residence relief. The usual conditions are that you have lived outside the EU for at least twelve months and have owned and used the goods for at least six months. Each country has its own forms and its own customs office.
Whichever country you choose, you will need a detailed inventory. We build it as we pack, numbering every box and listing what is inside. You will also need ID and proof of your new address. Switzerland and Norway are outside the EU, and have their own rules. Requirements change, so always check the current position for your destination before you book. Our country guides above cover the details for each one.

Moving back to the UK
We also run moves the other way. We collect from Europe and deliver to London and the rest of the UK. Take a look at our guides to removals from France to the UK, moving from Paris to the UK, removals from Switzerland to the UK, removals from the Netherlands to the UK and moving from Monaco to the UK.

European Removals from London: Your Questions Answered
Which European countries do you move to?
We move households and businesses to most of Western, Northern and Central Europe. The directory on this page lists every country and city we have a dedicated guide for. If your destination is not listed, contact us and we will tell you whether we can help.
Is a move to Switzerland or Norway different from a move to an EU country?
A little. Switzerland and Norway are in Europe but sit outside the EU, so your things pass a separate customs border on top of the paperwork any EU move now needs. That can mean extra forms and a stop at the border on the way. Our country guides explain what to expect for each place. We check the current rules for your destination and help you fill in the forms before the van leaves.
Do you move people to European islands as well as the mainland?
Yes. Our directory lists island guides for Mallorca, Ibiza, Gran Canaria, Sardinia and Sicily, among others. An island move adds a ferry crossing, and some island streets are too tight for a large lorry, so we plan the last stretch with care. If you only have part of a home to send, ask about our island groupage runs.
Can you move me back to the UK from Europe?
Yes. We also run removals the other way, from homes across Europe back to the UK. The customs side works in reverse, so you will need an inventory and proof that you are coming back to live. We plan the collection abroad and deliver to your new UK address, or into storage if you need it.

Honestly, couldn’t fault the Elite team, what a great group of lads! They were reliable, patient and careful. I would 100% recommend to anyone moving. Also, very competitive with their price and I had shopped around.
Excellent team of movers..
Vijithan and his dad were all hands on board. Very professional and took personal care from packing to disposal.

I would recomend Elite moving, good quote, friendly people and great overall experience.
We used Elite to organise our relocation from UK to Switzerland. I was very happy with the service. They were able to meet my timelines and kept me updated throughout. The crew were friendly and packed everything with lots of blankets and protection. They were very responsive, even early mornings and late at night. Which I really appreciate. Price was also reasonable.
Elite Moving were very helpful and willing to work around a difficult setting! Would recommend.
